One of our clients, a leader in global business services, is looking for a Senior ML Ops / Backend Engineer

Location: Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid: 3 days in office)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior ML Ops / Backend Engineer to take ownership of our client’s machine learning infrastructure and production deployments. This role focuses on scaling our current ML operations, fine-tuning existing models, and integrating open-source solutions into production-ready systems. You will work closely with backend and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployments, stability, and scalability of our ML-driven applications.

This is a hands-on technical role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is excited to bring ML models into production at scale.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate and scale machine learning systems (currently 5 models, growing to ~50).
• Fine-tune and optimize existing ML models for production use cases (OCR, citation detection, NLP, PDF analysis, and related tasks).
• Lead backend development efforts to support ML integrations and deployments.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production-ready ML models with a strong MLOps approach.
• Integrate and adapt large open-source solutions into production workflows.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless infrastructure, CI/CD, and cloud scalability.
• Drive technical improvements for performance, monitoring, and maintainability.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong background in ML Ops and backend engineering (not just pure ML research).
• Proven experience in production deployment of ML models at scale.
• Familiarity with OCR, NLP, and PDF analysis tools.
• Experience with fine-tuning models and applying them to real-world datasets.
• Skilled at integrating large open-source ML solutions.
• Strong understanding of backend systems and DevOps workflows.
• A pragmatic, hands-on builder who focuses on operational excellence over research.
